Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Full name — displayed on your profile and leaderboard
• Phone number — optional, for account recovery
• Profile image — optional, uploaded by you
• School name & Grade level — for academic context
• Province & City — for location-based features like college finder

Study & Academic Data

To provide our core study tools, we collect:

• Flashcards — questions, answers, subjects, difficulty levels
• Study plans & goals — titles, descriptions, deadlines, completion status
• Exam schedules & reminders — dates, subjects, priority levels
• Study reminders & alarms — scheduled times, recurrence patterns, completion status
• Study session data — start/end times, subjects studied, XP earned
• Streak data — consecutive study days, longest streaks
• Subject preferences — selected subjects for personalized content

Gamification & Social Data

• XP & Level progression
• Total points & achievements
• Leaderboard rankings — global and weekly
• Bio & personal description — optional, publicly visible on profile

Community Data

If you use our community features:

• Posts & comments — questions, replies, shared resources
• Upvotes & interactions — engagement with other users' content
• Reported content — if you report inappropriate posts

Device & Technical Information

• Device type & OS — iOS/Android version
• Push notification tokens — for study reminders and announcements
• App usage analytics — feature usage, crash reports, performance data
• IP address — for security and fraud prevention

Storage Location

Your data is stored securely on Supabase cloud infrastructure. Data may be processed and stored in data centers located in various regions to ensure reliability and performance.

Security Measures

Data Retention

• Active accounts: Data retained as long as your account is active
• Inactive accounts: After 24 months of inactivity, we may delete or anonymize your data
• Deleted accounts: Personal data removed within 30 days; encrypted backups may retain data for up to 90 days

Trusted Service Providers

We share data only with trusted providers who help us operate the App:

• Supabase — Cloud database and authentication services
• Expo / EAS — Push notification delivery and app infrastructure
• Cloud storage providers — Profile image storage
• Analytics providers — Anonymous usage analytics and crash reporting

All service providers are bound by strict confidentiality agreements and data protection obligations.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose your data if required to comply with a legal obligation, court order, government request, or to protect our rights, property, or safety.

StudentHub is designed for students, including those under 18. We take special precautions:

• We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent
• If you are under 13, a parent or guardian must review and agree to this Privacy Policy
• Parents/guardians may contact us to review, update, or delete their child's information
• We do not display precise location data publicly
• Community interactions are moderated

StudentHub uses push notifications for:

• Study reminders and alarms you configure
• Exam deadline alerts
• Important app updates and announcements

You can disable notifications at any time through your device settings or in-app preferences. Note that disabling notifications will prevent study reminders from alerting you.

When you post in the community:

• Your display name and profile image are visible alongside your posts
• Your posts and comments are publicly visible to other users
• Your upvotes and interactions are associated with your account

Moderation

Community content is moderated to ensure safety. Reported content may be reviewed by our team and removed if it violates our guidelines. Moderation actions are logged for accountability.

Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have different data protection laws. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place (such as standard contractual clauses) to protect your data during international transfers.

Our App does not use traditional web cookies. However, we use:

• Local storage — to cache data for offline functionality
• Authentication tokens — to keep you logged in securely
• Analytics identifiers — anonymous IDs for usage tracking

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect new features, legal requirements, or improvements to our data practices. We will notify you of significant changes through:
